DUMMERSTON, Vt. -- Just in time to influence the Vermont gubernatorial election, Forbes Magazine has released its annual report on the best business states in the Union.

By Gwen Stanley Standard Correspondent QUECHEE - Attorney General William Sorrell's office last Friday released decisions in two separate incidences involving the Hartford Police and the question of excessive use of force; one incident took place in Quechee and one in White River Junction.

Sanders is pushing Congress to help ease financial pressure on the U.S. Postal service - hoping that will help avoid 200-thousand layoffs -- and the closure of thousands of mail facilities across the country - including the mail center in White River Junction.

Hartford's Selectboard will meet tonight at 6 p.m. at the Bugbee Center at 262 N Main St in White River Junction to decide whether the issue of the Quechee Covered Bridge will be on the ballot at Town Meeting.
